Knowing that I was interested in coffee and travelling to Dalat, my dear friend recommended me to visit this farm after receiving a positive review from her relative. And now I confirm that I have had a blissful day tour with Sơn in his farm where he devotes immense time and effort producing Vietnamese specialty coffee.I am never a coffee professional but a fresh specialty coffee lover since 2 years ago. Barely sit still and learn about coffee on my own; ended up every time trying my luck in coffee shops. So when I had decided spend a whole day in a coffee farm, I was sincerely hoping that I could takeaway some knowledge and help myself find my cup coffee in the future.“When god closes one door, he opens another.” Very unluckily I signed up the tour on a heavily stormy day yet very luckily turned out I had the opportunity to have a private tour with Sơn. Having known that I was pretty much a blank page, Sơn gave me a theoretical lecture from sketch and patiently answered all my questions in detail, a way that “coffee babies” would understand. Besides the theoretical part, roasting, cupping and brewing in practice were absolutely interesting and worth the time to experience. By practice, I got to oversee some key processes of coffee production and learned what makes a cup of good coffee and why some coffee failed expectations.A single day wouldn’t make me a coffee expert as if no brewer cup champion was made in a day. So I will definitely pay another visit to Sơn and his farm and continue exploring the depth and breadth of coffee.Lastly, may you all coffee lover reading this review a great tour in this passion-driven coffee farm and enjoy the Vietnamese specialty coffee! 😉

We did a 2 hours tour on the farm which is lead by Mr.Son himself with the enthusiast as coffee lovers. The tour was very informative and beneficial in many ways whether you know nothing about coffee. With his passion and wide knowledge, Mr.Son taught us first with theories of how the coffee as it is today and how to distinguish different types of coffee. We were shown the path of plantation to the cup, the coffee berries, the farm and the process of rinsing and fermenting. It was a very thorough lesson from someone who is devoted to this magical bean. At the end of the tour, we asked to go around to take another look at his beautiful farm and we came across this beautiful tiny valley under the farm’s hill.It was an exceptional and eye-opening experience for us and the people and place would be one of our favorites in Đà Lạt.PS: The scenary of the farm and the road leads to it is breath-taking.

We did a 3hr tour of Son Pacamara Coffee Farm and it was one of our favorite things we did in Da Lat! We learned so much about the types of coffee, regions it’s grown, differences in roasting, etc. and it was all very fascinating. We even got to roast our own bag of coffee which was the best part. We really enjoyed our time here and thought the 3 hr tour was the perfect amount of time.

Hands down the BEST thing we did in Dalat (but we are little coffee nerds ☕️🤓)You may be surprised to hear that Vietnam is the worlds second largest producer of Coffee, after Brazil. We discovered the wonders of Vietnamese Phin Coffee on our travels and we’re desperate to find out more about Vietnamese coffee production.@sonpacamaravn specialises in speciality Arabica coffee, using smaller scale sustainable growing methods to produce some of the most delicious coffee we’ve ever had.We visited both their coffee shop and paid for a tour of the farm to learn more about coffee production and it was so fascinating. If you’re in Dalat this place is a MUST visit. I believe we only paid 200,000 for the two of us to have a 1.5 hour tour of the farm which included a coffee 👌🏻TO KNOW: Sadly there are many “tourist trap” coffee farms that don’t teach you anything or show you much of the farm. Many of these farms promote “weasel coffee” where they cage animals and force feed them coffee cherries to produce apparently more desirable coffee. Please do not support these farms, instead enjoy and support the amazing work these guys are doing 🙌🏻

It was 2.5 hours of passionate dialogue with Mr Son, founder and farmer of SON PACAMARA! Mr Son is full of knowledge and transmits his passion and commitment to DALAT quality arabica coffee beans! We started the tour with introduction of specialty coffee while I was enjoying with some fresh V60 drip! After we went to his farm and show us sample of what he is producing (about 4-5 different varieties of Arabica). Mr Son really insists on the importance to control every step of the coffee process to reach the level of specialty coffee! At the end we return to his workshop and started to roast together my own coffee I could enjoy at home! It costs me 600,000 Dong for this workshop. Totally worth the value if you are really into the coffee passion! The road to go is also very nice! NB: On the way back I stop to his roastery & coffee shop where I enjoyed un cup of espresso and bought some coffee bags!!!
